Anticipated Hiring Range: $23.00 - $29.50 hourly
Full Pay Range: $23.00 - $36.00 hourly.

Salary is based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. A higher wage would only be offered based on direct court-related or legal experience (i.e., such as that with a law firm). Additional questions regarding pay can be discussed with HR during the hiring process if you are offered a position. This position is eligible for overtime compensation for all hours worked over 40 in the designated work week.

About the Position

As the Courtroom Clerk, you'll be responsible for recording and memorializing court proceedings by attending court sessions, communicating oaths with witnesses and juries, and maintaining exhibits offered in a courtroom as evidence. You will be right in the center of the courtroom action, working very closely with the judge and courtroom assistant. The functions performed by this position ensure there is an objective record of events to facilitate the judicial process and expedite resolution pursuant to A.R.S. SS12-283.

These opportunities are within our Juvenile Services Division located at the Southeast Juvenile facility at 1810 S. Lewis, Mesa, and will require occasional weekend work.

We Require
  • Three years of clerical, legal office, or court-related experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Post-secondary education may substitute for two years of the experience requirement on a year-for-year basis

  • Attend all sessions of court, record court proceedings in a note‑taking manner, and transcribe notes into standard minute entry format within established time frames.
