PositionSummary
Combining in-depth automotive repair knowledge with exceptional people skills, the Service Manager will manage customer relationships, serve as liaison between technicians and customers, select, coach, lead, train and supervise vehicle technicians, and assist with parts, materials and equipment purchasing.
Responsibilities- Assign and schedule work duties to auto service staff according to individual skill level.
- Serve all automotive service needs of customers.
- Oversee the hiring and training of an effective auto service team.
- Ensure high teammate retention.
- Maintain compliance with quality standards.
- Ensure exceptional customer satisfaction and retention by managing all aspects of customer interactions.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries, feedback and concerns.
- Understand and manage business operations, paperwork, financial transactions and company policies.
- Drive sales through proactive customer interactions, vehicle inspections and communication between front and back of the shop.
- Provide insights to the front of the shop to facilitate product and service sales.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 4 years of auto service technical experience.
- 1 year of service manager or service writer experience.
- Problem-solving skills for customer complaints.
- Aptitude to manage inventory, scheduling, equipment maintenance, etc.
- Capacity to lead and coach others.
- Strong teammate and customer communication skills.
- Ability to recruit and select technicians according to store requirements.
- Willingness to continue education and stay current in automotive repair issues.
- Valid automotive driver’s license at all times.
- Associate’s degree or equivalent.
