Role SummaryThe General Superintendent develops and executes project plans, overseeing all aspects of complex projects. Responsible for team management, planning construction sequencing, and achieving project goals in alignment with JE Dunn's strategy, vision, and values.
Key Role Responsibilities - CoreSuperintendent Family - Core
- Lead safety culture, promote an injury-free environment, investigate incidents, and retrain staff as needed.
- Manage subcontractors and organize overall job and workflow.
- Oversee staff, subcontractors, suppliers, and programs like Safety, Quality, EEOC for small or large projects.
- Develop work plans for subcontractors and self-performed work.
- Coordinate project site care, custody, and control.
- Lead meetings, including daily standups and weekly trade meetings.
- Participate in project meetings and manage project schedules and documentation.
- Monitor project budgets, communicate key information, and ensure quality standards.
- Support project closeouts, participate in project pursuit, and partner with field leadership on staffing and project changes.
- Engage in negotiation, project reviews, and subcontractor buyouts.
- Identify and recruit top talent, promote diversity and inclusion, and uphold non-discrimination policies.
General Superintendent
- Manage large, complex projects from start to finish and oversee multiple projects and teams.
- Lead strategic initiatives, develop training content, and deliver leadership messages effectively.
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, project management, scheduling software, and construction technology.
- Deep knowledge of construction processes, trades, self-perform work, and labor productivity.
- Ability to manage budgets, optimize profitability, and understand document changes and layout skills.
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- 12+ years construction experience, including 10+ years in field supervision, and experience with 75M+ aviation projects.
- Valid driver's license required.
