Permanent Substitute Teacher

Location:

1601 W. Main Street, Mesa AZ 85201 campus and 6625 S. Power, Mesa AZ 85212 campus.

Under general supervision, the Permanent Substitute Teacher provides classroom instruction and supervision during the temporary absence of a regular teacher. The role requires maintaining a safe, structured, and positive learning environment while implementing lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher. Substitutes will also prepare reports and feedback for the regular teacher regarding student participation and performance.

• Teach and supervise students during the temporary absence of a regular teacher.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and positive learning environment.
• Engage students in meaningful learning activities and support their academic progress.
• Prepare reports and feedback for the regular teacher regarding student participation and performance.

• Valid Arizona teaching certificate for PreK-12 or a valid Arizona substitute certificate.
• Prior experience working with high school students preferred.

• Valid Arizona Department of Public Safety Identity Prints (IVP) fingerprint card.
• Proof of immunization against or immunity to Measles, Mumps and Rubella.
• Three references.

Flexibility is a MUST. This position needs to cover assignments at both the Main and Power campuses and cover a variety of teaching assignments, starting as early as 7:00 am for some classes.

Salary: $25.00 per hour.
