Adult Education Adjunct Instructor for General Education - Math 142
East Valley Institute of Technology – Main Street Campus, Mesa, Arizona
Position:
Part‑time Adult Education Adjunct Instructor (8‑week sessions; 3‑4 credit load) – Non‑Exempt, As‑needed.
Salary: $1,500 per load credit.
Job Type: Part‑time, Non‑Exempt, As‑needed. The instructor will teach in a general classroom setting and support EVIT’s mission to provide high‑quality education to adult learners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide competent classroom instruction in Math 142.
- Teach students from diverse backgrounds and help them acquire knowledge and training for success in their chosen career.
- Assess and enhance the curriculum to meet EVIT’s educational requirements and student needs.
- Adhere to all rules and regulations of accrediting organizations and ensure high academic standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 18 graduate‑level credits in the subject area of instruction with a grade of “C” or higher.
- At least one year of collegiate‑level teaching experience.
- Experience using Canvas, Google Classroom, and Exam Soft or similar LMS.
- Valid Level 1 IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by Arizona Department of Public Safety.
- Proof of immunization or immunity to measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) if born after January 1, 1957.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two (2) years of collegiate‑level teaching experience.
- Demonstrated ability to plan instruction aligned with course objectives and post lesson plans timely.
- Skill in assessing students’ skill levels and developing appropriate learning objectives.
- Proficient in organizing instructional time, space, materials, and equipment to support effective learning.
- Ability to plan and implement engaging classroom activities and assignments that reinforce learning objectives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated punctuality and professionalism.
- Strong organizational and leadership abilities.
- Ability to maintain a positive and collaborative working environment.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues in an academic setting.
- Commitment to fostering student success through innovative and interactive teaching methods.
