Secondary Math Intervention/Data Specialist School Year (5342) – Queen Creek Unified School District
JOB GOAL: The Secondary Math Intervention and Data Specialist provides math intervention by working directly with students, supports the collection and preparation of a variety of student learning data, facilitates the data PLC process, and assists staff in using data to improve student achievement.
Responsibilities- Analyzes student performance data from School City benchmark assessments, AASA, ACT, ACT Aspire, and other standardized assessments.
- Coordinates test administration for School City benchmarks, AASA, ACT, ACT Aspire, and other assessments.
- Leads and supports Professional Learning Community (PLC) meetings focused on formative assessment data, instructional dialogue, and Reteach/Enrich (Achievement Hour).
- Compiles and communicates data reports, highlighting student strengths and areas for growth to both site and district-level personnel.
- Spends 50% of time working directly with students to provide targeted math interventions.
- Supports district-level coordinators, directors, and the Assistant and Associate Superintendent on initiatives aligned to academic performance and accountability.
- Attends curriculum, assessment, and data-focused meetings and professional learning as directed.
- Provides logistical and technical support for the administration of standardized assessments (AASA, ACT, etc.), including uploading student data, completing training modules, and coordinating with school technology staff, principals, and district personnel to ensure successful test implementation.
- Uses data from multiple assessment sources to identify students at risk in core content areas.
- Maintains an understanding of Arizona Mathematics and ELA academic standards to support instructional alignment and intervention planning.
- Analyzes assessment results to determine students in need of remediation, re-teaching, or additional academic support.
- Supports implementation of remediation, re-teaching, and tutoring programs as part of the school’s intervention framework.
- Participates in regularly scheduled instructional team leader meetings to help guide learning strategies aligned to school and district goals.
- Collaborates with the principal and department chairs to develop schedules that support students identified for reteach and enrich programs (Achievement Hour).
- Attends required professional development and training sessions as directed by the principal.
- Partners with classroom teachers to align intervention efforts with core instruction to maximize student success.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of individual student progress, and shares data with principals, teachers, and families as appropriate.
- Collaborates with the principal and assistant principal on all aspects of assessment administration and data review.
- Provides technical support to site leadership related to assessment systems and instructional tools.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Arizona Teaching Certificate with Mathematics Approved Area required for 7-12 or 9-12 schools.
- Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate with Middle Grades Mathematics as an Approved Area for a 7-8 school.
- Current Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- SEI (Structured English Immersion) requirement posted on the certificate.
- Five (5) years of successful teaching experience preferred.
- Experience in analyzing testing data preferred.
