Calendar: Certified III, 261 workdays

$500 for each full-time year of certified teaching or verified like experience

Education:

Job Summary

The Coordinator of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment provides district-level leadership to ensure coherence and alignment of curriculum, instructional practices, and assessment for learning across all content areas and grade levels. This position supports the continuous improvement of instructional systems, resource development, and professional learning that lead to improved student outcomes within Mesa Public Schools’ Portrait of a Graduate. The coordinator collaborates with district, regional, and school leaders to ensure implementation fidelity of high-quality instructional materials, access to standards-based curriculum, and the effective use of formative and summative assessment data to guide teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership & Collaboration
  • Support curriculum, instruction, and assessment systems aligned to state standards and district priorities.
  • Collaborate with the academic learning specialists to ensure vertical and horizontal curriculum alignment.
  • Partner with regional directors and coordinators to support the implementation of high-quality instructional materials (HQIM).
  • Support and mentor academic specialists to ensure consistent and high-quality instruction across schools.
Curriculum
  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of curriculum documents, pacing guides, and instructional resources.
  • Ensure district curriculum and instructional resources support the development of Mesa Public Schools’ Portrait of a Graduate competencies.
  • Support the Director of Academics - Curriculum and coordinate with academic specialists to evaluate and select HQIM for adoption.
  • Maintain and update district course catalogs and coordinate the Community Curriculum Advisory Panel (CCAP) process.
  • Support the implementation and impact evaluation of adopted instructional resources.
  • Oversee systems to ensure proper distribution of instructional materials to schools.
  • Support the system for submission and approval of supplemental instructional resources.
Instructional Systems
  • Oversee the implementation of instructional design to ensure rigorous, aligned instruction.
  • Support the coherence of instruction across academic domains and their alignment of the Mesa Public School’s Instructional Framework.
  • Provide guidance and support to regional teams and schools on instructional best practices.
Assessment for Learning
  • Support the development and refinement of assessment for learning systems that promote continuous improvement in instruction.
  • Support schools and regions in using formative assessment data to identify trends, inform instruction, and monitor progress.
  • Collaborate with district departments to align assessment tools and data systems with instructional needs.
Professional Learning
  • Partner with the Professional Learning & Learning Technology Coordinator to support aligned professional learning.
  • Support the development of instructional leaders and coaches in effective instructional design, implementation of HQIM, and data-driven practices.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
  • Support the integration of value-added technology and digital tools into curriculum and assessment systems.
  • Analyze implementation and outcome data to identify areas for instructional improvement.
  • Research emerging trends and innovative practices to strengthen curriculum and assessment systems.
General
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support Mesa Public Schools’ academic goals and Portrait of a Graduate.
