Supports government and commercial programs by preparing contract deliverable documentation (CDRLs/SDRLs), operator and maintenance manuals, training materials, and logistics data. Works closely with engineers and program managers to capture technical information and convert it into accurate, user-friendly documentation.
Responsibilities- Assist in developing operator manuals, system maintenance manuals, and training packages.
- Support the preparation of CDRL/SDRL deliverables, ensuring compliance with DoD Data Item Descriptions (DIDs) and contract requirements.
- Create presentation materials, graphics, and other instructional content for training.
- Collect technical inputs from engineers and SMEs, documenting them in clear and concise language.
- Participate in editing and formatting monthly/quarterly reports, logistics support documentation, and contractor deliverables.
- Maintain accuracy and consistency across documentation following AS9100 standards.
- Proofread and edit documentation for grammar, clarity, and technical accuracy.
- Serve as the engineering liaison between ICE, suppliers, and vendor field application engineers.
- Manage performance of suppliers and vendors to ensure quality, cost, and delivery objectives are met.
- Identify, investigate, and recommend potential and existing suppliers.
- Determine and document purchasing specifications and performance requirements on purchase orders.
- Negotiate terms, pricing, and delivery schedules in alignment with company objectives.
- Research and compare item costs, lead times, and availability across suppliers.
- Typically, 2 years’ experience in technical writing, engineering support, or DoD documentation, OR
- 2 years of relevant experience in live training systems, electronics, telemetry, network technology, or other regulated industries, OR
- A combination of both.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel; familiarity with graphics tools (Visio, Paint Shop, Adobe, or equivalent).
- Ability to simplify complex technical concepts.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing / Communications, Engineering, or related field.
- Familiarity with, or ability to quickly learn, DoD Data Item Descriptions (DIDs), MIL-STDs, and government contract deliverables.
- Familiarity with Parts Lists, BOMs, engineering drawings.
Job Type: Full-time In-Office
Compensation: $27.86 – $33.10 per hour
