Overview
Avionics/Electrical Tech IV with sign-on bonus and relocation available, based in GAC Mesa. All shifts are available. The role provides leadership, technical expertise, and hands-on testing and repairs of avionics/electrical systems to ensure defect-free aircraft, while meeting safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities- Demonstrate superior technical skills in avionics and aircraft systems testing and troubleshooting; provide direct training to personnel to support cross-training goals with a safety-conscious, quality-focused team.
- Install and functionally test electrical/avionics components per engineering specifications, drawings, and maintenance manuals to ensure a defect-free system.
- Ensure quality and efficiency of installations; troubleshoot and teach troubleshooting processes to deliver timely, high-quality repairs.
- Repair or replace defective components and wiring using approved techniques (e.g., splicing, soldering, pinning) to meet conformity.
- Oversee compliance with engineering changes and modifications as required.
- Set up and operate test equipment; conduct functional and operational tests to evaluate performance and reliability.
- Maintain daily logs and documentation for all work performed on aircraft; review others’ work as needed to reduce rework and inspection time.
- Coordinate with other disciplines on projects; adapt to sudden schedule changes.
- Mentor and apply knowledge in testing and maintaining test equipment and electronic systems.
- Enforce company FOD, tool control, 5-S, and all safety regulations.
- Education:
High School Diploma or GED required. Six (6) years of experience in an avionics/electrical career field, or two (2) years of accredited schooling in aviation electronics plus four (4) years related experience. - A&P license, FCC license, or NCATT certification preferred.
- Knowledge of engineering drawings and wiring harnesses is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and schematic diagrams;
English language proficiency (read, write, speak, and understand).
