IntroductionWe are seeking a Project Manager to join our Repair Center team. You will be responsible for project execution and related customer communication, which involves managing rotables, retrofits, and equipment repairs delivered to customers within Metso Service Facility operations. Your role plays a crucial part in ensuring timely part deliveries, meeting customer expectations, and fulfilling contract obligations, which will positively impact customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
In this position, you will report to the Senior Mechanical Engineering Manager.
This position is mainly located in Mesa, AZ, and may involve up to 30% international or domestic travel to customer sites and other internal Metso locations for training and meetings.
Team you belong toYou will join a team of technical and project management experts who are passionate about delivering high‑quality repair services and customer solutions. We are currently working on rotables and retrofit projects, major repair shop service events, and continuous improvement initiatives.
We collaborate closely with internal stakeholders such as Production Teams and Proposal Departments, as well as external customers and suppliers. Our team culture is all about collaboration, precision, and continuous improvement. Team members are located across various Metso facilities globally.
What you’ll do- Lead and manage projects, including component exchange contracts, inventory consignment contracts, and major repair shop service events, ensuring alignment with Metso’s global processes and policies.
- Ensure projects are well‑resourced, meet customer expectations, and fulfill contract obligations while achieving targets for safety, quality, schedule, and budget.
- Coordinate with Production and Proposal teams to prepare and oversee internal and external kick‑off meetings, defining project requirements and clarifying contractual issues.
- Liaise with technical support staff to identify procedures, special tooling, jigs, and fixtures needed for project execution.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities and provide feedback to stakeholders.
- Visit customer sites for meetings, equipment evaluations, and coordination, ensuring quality technical support and service.
- Take a leadership role in planning and implementing large and complex projects, making recommendations to improve shop methods and efficiency.
- Extensive project management expertise, complemented by a solid technical background. Experience in the mining or heavy machinery industry is a plus.
- Technical proficiency with SAP and Salesforce; ability to interpret engineering drawings and understand commercial and legal terms and conditions.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate teamwork and drive results.
- Detail‑oriented with high precision and proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of Metso equipment products is beneficial.
