Position Summary:

This position performs cashiering and customer service duties in retail areas to provide accurate revenue collection and to assist in providing high quality customer service to customers. You will also maintain all assigned stations, keeping them clean, well‑stocked, and attractive at all times.

• Accurately record all sales in the Point of Sale System; transact payments with customers.
• Store, count, deposit and maintain register cash and receivables in accordance with the policies and procedures of the facility.
• Maintain all assigned stations, keeping them clean, well‑stocked, and attractive at all times.
• Provide service to customers, meeting standards and guidelines; respond to customer complaints and assist with problem resolution.
• May perform cleaning, stocking, sign maintenance and other duties as assigned.
• This position is in contact with patients, other food service department personnel, hospital staff, visitors and families. Excellent customer service skills are required and ability to resolve customer issues at the point of contact.

The schedule for this position is varied. Shifts range from 5:30 am to 2:00 pm up to 1:00 pm to 9:30 pm, including some weekends and holidays.

Banner Baywood Medical Center, Mesa, Arizona. The 342‑bed hospital provides acute care services including oncology, stroke, women's health, rehabilitation, emergency medicine and surgery. It is a pediatric‑prepared and trauma‑level‑3 emergency center with a nationally recognized orthopedic program.

This position requires effective interpersonal communication skills, a friendly customer service attitude and the ability to accurately calculate and count change rapidly and repetitively. Good reading, writing and math skills. Must be able to learn food handling regulations and pass certification tests as required. Requires the ability to learn Point of Sale cash register system, beverage brewing and/or dispensing equipment and cleaning equipment.

For Banner Staffing Services team members, the food handlers' card is required within 30 days of hire (not required for BSS team members in Tucson and Colorado).

High school diploma, GED or equivalent working knowledge.
