Housekeeping EVS Associate Days – Banner Health, Mesa, Arizona
Banner Health invites applicants for the Housekeeping EVS Associate Days role. This full‑time position is based in Mesa, Arizona, within the Banner Desert Medical Center.

Department: Environmental Services – Hospital;
Shift: Day 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, 40 hours/week with weekend and holiday rotations; weekend shift differential of $1 per hour and 18% night shift differential. A $1,000 sign‑on bonus is available; eligibility will be reviewed by recruiter.
Perform cleaning of patient rooms and assigned areas, supporting the environmental service team to maintain a safe, healthy, and aesthetically pleasing environment with minimal disruption. No experience in a hospital or institutional setting is required.
Core Functions- Perform a variety of assigned cleaning tasks, including dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming, and polishing according to departmental policy and procedures. Must plan the completion of these tasks daily.
- Empty hampers and transport soiled linen; empty trash containers and remove all trash; empty all medical waste containers, including sharps.
- Inventory, restock and replenish supplies such as toilet tissue, paper towels, hand soap, etc., in all assigned areas of the facility.
- Maintain cleanliness of departmental equipment and notify appropriate personnel when repairs are needed; protect equipment from damage by proper use; properly log out and in equipment that has been used.
- May perform special projects such as window washing, wall washing, or removing heavily soiled items or furnishings.
- Respond to questions and requests from patients, staff and visitors; meet or exceed customer service satisfaction goals.
- Under regular supervision, this position has responsibility at an assigned facility/area only. Internal customers include facility staff, physicians, nurses, patients, visitors, supervisors, managers, and executives; external customers include visitors, patients and employees from other company and non‑company facilities.
Requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team without continuous supervision. Must be able to interpret and respond to verbal and written instructions, communicate effectively by phone and verbally, read and understand material safety data sheets and instructions for mixing and use of cleaning chemicals, and fill out chemical identification stickers.
Preferred QualificationsPrevious related experience and familiarity with environmental services equipment and cleaning techniques is preferred.
Additional InformationApplicants may be assigned to clean the morgue and/or specialty areas such as a COVID‑19 unit. Working in Housekeeping can be fast‑paced and physically demanding, involving walking, pushing a cleaning cart, and handling cleaning chemicals to remove blood and bodily fluids. A background check and drug screen are required; all Banner Health employees must receive an annual flu vaccine (exemptions must be requested from the recruiter).
