SummaryWillow Wood is seeking a skilled Machinist to join our dynamic machine shop team. As a vital member of our product development and production teams, you will work closely with our lead machinist and engineering team to drive innovation and excellence in machining processes.
This is a first shift position, Monday - Friday.
Pay: $20-30/hour + overtime. Full benefits offered.
Essential Responsibilities- Implement G-code and set up fixtures for production runs.
- Collaborate with the lead machinist to optimize feeds, speeds, and tooling for efficient machining.
- Install and configure tools and equipment according to job requirements.
- Make adjustments to G-code as necessary to enhance efficiency.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment.
- Perform production tasks across various areas as needed.
- Participate in preventive maintenance of shop equipment.
Other duties as required.
- 3-5 years of hands‑on experience with CNC lathes, mills, screw machines, and metal fabrication tools; prior machine setup experience preferred.
- Proficiency in G-code programming.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications accurately.
- Understanding of materials such as titanium, aluminum, stainless steel, and plastics for selecting cutting tools, speeds, and feeds.
- Familiarity with quality control tools such as micrometers, calipers, and CMM.
- Ability to mentor and train junior machinists.
- Commitment to staying updated on industry trends and machining techniques.
- Strong problem‑solving skills in product fabrication.
- Ability to work independently, multitask, and collaborate effectively.
- Proficiency in using personal computers for documentation.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members, engineers, and other departments.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and production schedules.
- Strong understanding of mechanical principles and machine operations.
