Summary

Willow Wood is seeking a skilled Machinist to join our dynamic machine shop team. As a vital member of our product development and production teams, you will work closely with our lead machinist and engineering team to drive innovation and excellence in machining processes.

This is a first shift position, Monday - Friday.

Pay: $20-30/hour + overtime. Full benefits offered.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Implement G-code and set up fixtures for production runs.
  • Collaborate with the lead machinist to optimize feeds, speeds, and tooling for efficient machining.
  • Install and configure tools and equipment according to job requirements.
  • Make adjustments to G-code as necessary to enhance efficiency.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment.
  • Perform production tasks across various areas as needed.
  • Participate in preventive maintenance of shop equipment.

    Other duties as required.
Essential Skills Required
  • 3-5 years of hands‑on experience with CNC lathes, mills, screw machines, and metal fabrication tools; prior machine setup experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in G-code programming.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications accurately.
  • Understanding of materials such as titanium, aluminum, stainless steel, and plastics for selecting cutting tools, speeds, and feeds.
  • Familiarity with quality control tools such as micrometers, calipers, and CMM.
  • Ability to mentor and train junior machinists.
  • Commitment to staying updated on industry trends and machining techniques.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills in product fabrication.
  • Ability to work independently, multitask, and collaborate effectively.
  • Proficiency in using personal computers for documentation.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members, engineers, and other departments.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and production schedules.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical principles and machine operations.
