About the Opportunity

Vision Air Services is a small, privately owned aerospace manufacturing and repair company seeking an experienced machinist with strong attention to detail and the ability to hold close tolerances on precision aerospace components.

Working at Vision Air Services offers an opportunity to do more than simply operate machines. As a small business, we value initiative, practical experience, and independent thinking. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, treats the shop as if it were their own, and takes responsibility for keeping equipment, tooling, and the work environment organized and efficient.

The right candidate will have the independence to organize their work, improve machining processes, implement ideas, and determine the best way to meet production requirements. You will work directly with management, have a meaningful voice in how the shop operates, and see the results of your efforts firsthand.

  • Maintain close dimensional tolerances and ensure parts meet drawing and inspection requirements.
  • Plan and organize machining operations to meet production schedules and quality standards.
  • Maintain equipment, tooling, and a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Identify and implement improvements to machining methods, setups, workflow, and shop efficiency.
  • Perform precision inspections and complete required manufacturing and inspection documentation.
  • Work independently, troubleshoot problems, and take initiative to get the job done right.
  • Learn new equipment, machining processes, and inspection methods quickly as production needs require.

Experience setting up and operating a variety of manual and CNC machine tools is required. The ability to learn additional equipment quickly and become proficient with the machines used in our shop is essential.

Equipment includes:

  • Manual Mill
  • Manual Lathe (chucker and engine lathes)
  • Manual Hone and Automatic Stroker Hone
  • Kwik-Way Grinder
  • Studer S20 OD Grinder
  • Okuma GENOS L400II

  • Manual deburring equipment and processes

Preferred Experience

  • Hydraulic spool and sleeve assemblies, including lapping and trimming.
  • Laser marking.
  • Precision inspection, including surface plate setups and close-tolerance measurements.
  • Optical comparator operation.
  • Manufacturing, inspection, and technical documentation.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to pass a Department of Defense (DoD) drug test.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet production requirements.
  • Initiative in shop organization, equipment care, and continuous improvement.

Benefits & Work Environment

  • 401(k) retirement plan with company matching
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance plans
  • Paid Time Off
  • Air-conditioned shop and work environment
  • First-shift schedule with flexibility as needed

If you enjoy machining, solving problems, and finding better ways to get work done, this is an opportunity to put your experience to use in a small-shop environment where your ideas matter. We offer the independence to make day-to-day decisions, the flexibility to implement improvements, and the opportunity to play a direct role in the success of the shop.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their craft, takes responsibility for their work, and wants to help build a better, more efficient machine shop.
