Overview:

Are you an organized compliance-minded logistics professional who takes ownership of safe, sustainable operations? We are a fast-growing, industry-leading manufacturer of ultra-pure chemical products critical to the global semiconductor and advanced electronics industries. As a mid-sized, highly stable company with a history of steady growth, we combine a supportive, collaborative culture with competitive compensation and top-tier benefits. We are looking for a skilled Hazardous Waste & Shipping/Receiving Technician to manage environmental waste operations and support warehouse logistics in Mesa, AZ.

In this pivotal role, you will be the guardian of site environmental safety, waste compliance, and material flow–acting as a critical bridge between our EHS, Production, and Supply Chain departments.

What you will be doing:

This dynamic role blends environmental safety management with high-precision warehouse logistics
Hazardous Waste & EHS Compliance Operations

  • Track & Document:
Monitor and record all facility-generated waste stream types, quantities, and sources. Maintain accurate logs, treatment records, and regulatory manifests.
  • Storage & Handling:
Oversee waste collection across all plant departments. Ensure containers are properly segregated, labeled, placed in secondary containment, and moved to the 180-day accumulation area.
  • In-House Treatment & Pickups:
Operate in-house waste-treatment processing systems according to safety protocols and coordinate outbound waste pickups with approved environmental vendors.
  • Safety Inspections:
Perform routine audits of waste accumulation areas to verify label compliance, container integrity, cleanliness, and overall site safety.
  • Interdepartmental Communication:
Collaborate with EHS, Production, and Lab managers to track trends, address non-conformances, and drive continuous environmental improvements.
Shipping, Receiving & Warehouse Logistics Support
  • Dual-Function Support:
Serve as a core backup for Shipping & Receiving during peak volumes or primary staff absences.
  • Inbound Receiving:
Inspect, verify, and log incoming materials against purchase orders using ERP inventory systems; stage and deliver items to designated departments.
  • Outbound Shipping:
Package and document outgoing shipments, completing packing slips, Bills of Lading (BOLs), hazardous material shipping labels, and carrier paperwork.
  • Material Handling & Inventory:
Safe operation of forklifts, pallet jacks, and warehouse equipment to move materials, manage inventory layout, and support routine cycle counts.
What you must have:
  • Education:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent (vocational/technical coursework in environmental science or logistics is a plus).
  • Skills:

Strong organizational habits, meticulous attention to detail in record-keeping, and basic computer proficiency for ERP/inventory transaction logging.
  • Physical Capability:
Ability to safely maneuver, lift, and handle waste containers and materials following company ergonomic guidelines.
  • Equipment:
Ability to operate material-handling equipment (forklift/pallet jack certification training provided if needed).
Nice to have:
  • Direct experience in hazardous waste handling, environmental health & safety (EHS), warehouse operations, or chemical manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with RCRA regulations, hazardous waste labeling, 180-day accumulation rules, and secondary containment protocols.
  • Experience generating shipping documentation (BOLs, hazardous materials shipping paper compliance).
Other Information:
  • Position Type:
    Full-Time (Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)
  • Pay Range: $22.00 – $35.00 / hour (Commensurate with experience) + Discretionary Bonus Potential
