The Mobile & Pantry Operations Coordinator ensures the efficient and safe operation of all mobile food distributions and on‑site Neighbor’s Pantry services. This position will coordinate logistics, staffing, and resources to support food access for individuals and families across United Food Bank’s service area. The role will balance both strategic planning and hands‑on execution, while supporting mobile distributions, pantry site management, and community engagement efforts.
Travel across the service area (40%) and occasional overnight work (20%) is required.
Include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee mobile and on‑site pantry distributions to ensure safe, equitable, and efficient food access.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with mobile distribution sites, city/town officials, and community partners to ensure successful events.
- Conduct regular assessments of the service area to identify high‑need communities and determine where operational resources will have the greatest impact. Track and analyze distribution and community data to inform decision‑making.
- Implement and support United Food Bank's Graduation Framework, helping to ensure communities and agency partners move toward sustainable food access.
- Collaborate with the Operations & Transportation team to maintain scheduling and equipment allocation for all distribution events.
- Collaborate with the Philanthropy & Marketing team to promote distributions.
- Conduct regular assessments of pantry and mobile site needs, including inventory, staffing, traffic flow, and community accessibility.
- Coordinate volunteers and staff during distributions, ensuring adherence to safety and food handling protocols.
- Maintain accurate distribution records, including household counts, product types, and service data for reporting purposes.
- Implement and monitor best practices for warehouse‑to‑community logistics, including vehicle routing and product staging.
- Support emergency food response initiatives in coordination with community partners and local agencies.
- Participate in cross‑departmental initiatives, including SNAP outreach, agency support, and special projects.
- Maintain compliance with Feeding America, DES, and United Food Bank policies regarding food safety, reporting, and equitable distribution practices.
- Passion for alleviating hunger and community service.

- Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent combination of education and experience in logistics, operations, supply chain, or nonprofit management.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills, including the ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience coordinating staff or volunteers in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with diverse populations.
- Ability to problem‑solve and adapt to operational challenges with creativity and efficiency.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and comfort learning new database systems.
