As a Senior Food Service Worker, you will play a key role in our food service operations by planning and executing daily food production for multiple service areas including café menus, catering events, and special requests. This position combines culinary expertise with customer service excellence, requiring you to independently manage food preparation timing and quantities, minimize waste through strategic planning, and ensure all items meet standardized recipe requirements.

You will also serve as a front-line customer service representative, handling point-of-sale transactions, resolving customer concerns, and maintaining accurate financial records while upholding the highest standards of food safety and sanitation. Working with general supervision, you will demonstrate strong cooking skills, sound judgment, and the ability to resolve complex issues independently while collaborating effectively with patients, staff, visitors, and fellow team members to deliver exceptional dining experiences across all service areas.

Our facility includes a 28 bed cardiovascular intensive care unit that specialized in the recovery of surgical patients, cardiogenic shock, and CRRT. Our 60 bed Cardiac Progressive Care Unit specializes in fast-paced procedural recovery and our 23 bed Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit specializes in surgical recovery.

Our space also includes two endovascular suites, six OR suites, six cardiac Cath labs, and three electrophysiology labs.

This position plans daily food production for assigned areas and produces all food items based on information obtained from café menus, catering requests and any other approved source. This position also performs cashiering and customer service duties in retail areas to provide accurate revenue collection and to assist in providing high quality customer service to customers.

• Plans food production timing and quantities. In the event of shortage, determines menu substitutions. Minimizes food waste with appropriate planning and tracking. Records food shortages and excess quantities in accordance with department procedure. May take inventories of all food products and settle catering and interdepartmental food charges in computer program.
• Prepares all food items according to standardized recipes. Adjusts recipe quantities for correct yields. Notifies supervisor of any problems relating to production.
• Provides service to customers, meeting standards and guidelines. Responds to customer complaints and assists with problem resolution, appropriately escalating issues to supervisor, as needed.
• Accurately records all sales in the Point of Sale System; transacts payments with customers. Stores, counts, deposits and maintains register cash and receivables in accordance with the policies and procedures of the facility. Runs…
