Job Summary

The Manager supervises store operations, staff, and relationships with suppliers and customers to ensure a clean, well‑stocked, and service‑oriented environment.

Essential Duties
  • Leadership and Management: Directly supervises the activities of 2+ full‑time employees (Assistant Manager(s), Lead Representative(s), Customer Service Representative(s)). Recruits, hires and trains employees, develops task assignments, maintains a professional image, schedules employees, and implements non‑discriminatory management skills.
  • Store Relationships: Builds relationships with suppliers; promotes excellent service and resolves customer complaints in a timely, professional manner; ensures predictable onsite attendance; promotes a safe, positive public image within the neighboring community.
  • Training and Development: Prepares ongoing performance appraisals in Workday, provides feedback, trains on safety procedures, cash awareness, and company standards; ensures required training is completed in a timely manner.
  • Communications: Ensures that all employees receive proper communication on time and establishes periodic communication meetings with all store employees and the Market Manager.
  • Organizing and Planning: Evaluates and develops action plans to meet store objectives, organizes and maintains store files and manuals, supervises submission of reports, and ensures merchandise is stocked, displayed and priced correctly.
  • Financial: Analyzes daily sales and expense information, budgets and forecasts P&L lines, safeguards money, performs financial analysis to maximize sales and net profits, and notifies the Market Manager of discrepancies.
Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent plus 1‑2 years retail experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and work experience.
  • Ability to supervise and train for the use of equipment, tools and materials as listed in the CSR, LSR and SA job descriptions.
  • Ability to use a computer to complete reports, inventory control, cash control and employment forms.
  • Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
  • Open availability.
  • English oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to perform essential duties and physical functions described below.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle; sit for long periods.
  • Food Server (Serv Safe) or Food Safety Management certification may be required.
Physical Requirements
  • Minimum of 50 hours per week.
  • Exposure to cold or warm temperature extremes while working in walk‑in coolers, freezers or outdoors.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds from ground to overhead.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds from ground to waist.
  • Grasp, reach and manipulate objects with hands throughout the shift.
  • Push / pull with arms up to 20 pounds.
  • Reach overhead for objects.
  • Ability to bend and twist at the waist.
  • Oral communication.
  • Operate a cash register and/or computer keyboard.
  • Stoop, kneel, squat, bend, push, pull.
  • Work alone.
  • Exposure to occasional noise.
  • Stand and/or walk for an entire shift.
  • May require climbing a ladder to store, retrieve materials or remove signs.
Work Environment
  • Work requires 50 hours per week and may include all shifts, weekends and holidays.
  • Approximately 95% of work is indoors, though cleaning parking lots, gas pumps, garbage removal will occur.
  • Exposure to extreme cold temperatures in a walk‑in cooler or freezer.
  • Exposure to occasional noise.
  • Minimal direction and periodic supervision.
