Service Technician

Job Description

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair all mechanical and electrical problems on respective boat, motors, and trailers.
• Support a strong commitment to world class customer service and ensure a pleasant and productive shopping experience for all customers.
• Install all types of accessory items, for example, batteries, cables and propellers.
• Assist customers by answering specific technical questions to help the customer understand the operation of the unit and the work to be done or work already completed.
• Attend technical training to improve proficiency, quality of work and to achieve higher levels of certification.
• When necessary, water test unit with customers to verify work performed and to explain the operation of the product.
• Stay familiar with painting process, decal application and fiberglass repairs.
• Perform rigging as required.
• Maintains awareness of safety issues and reports them immediately to supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Work performed and composed of a variety of different tasks, calling for the use of sound judgment, and compliance with policies and procedures. Must be a self‑starter and be able to work in a team environment to achieve team, department and company goals. Assists with a number of projects at one time and may be interrupted frequently to meet the needs and requests of customers.

• Marine Service Technician Diploma or certification required.
• Knowledge or related experience in the marine service industry.
• Excellent customer service skills – known as someone who goes above and beyond.
• Must have a positive attitude.
• Must have highly effective communication skills and time management skills.
• Must be able to maintain a calm, positive attitude during periods of high activity.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Basic water safety skills.
• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Must be able to work flexible hours on the needs of the property.
