Overview
Scheduling Coordinator - Staffing (sometimes referred to as a Clinical Staffing Coordinator or Clinical Scheduling Coordinator) supports hospital departments by developing and maintaining schedules in collaboration with the CNO and leadership, ensuring staffing levels align with patient care needs, labor agreements, and hospital policy. Scheduling & Staffing Coordinator manage daily staffing adjustments in real time, coordinate with leadership on staffing forecasts, and participate in position control meetings to optimize coverage and cost-effectiveness.
Additionally, Staffing & Scheduling Coordinator oversee agency staffing processes, including candidate review, compliance, and invoice reconciliation, while working to reduce reliance on supplemental labor.

Employment Type: Full-Time
Hours: 8-hour - 8:00am to 5:00pm (Some weekends will be required)
Location: Dallas Regional Medical Center - Mesquite, TX
Responsibilities- Create, update, and manage schedules for Nursing Administration and other clinical and non-clinical staff, coordinating time-off requests, shift exchanges, and availability to maintain seamless 24/7 coverage
- Monitor patient census levels and acuity throughout the day to adjust staffing levels appropriately, reassign staff across units, and respond quickly to call-outs or unexpected absences to maintain safe patient care
- Ensure schedules are compliant with hospital policies, union contracts, state labor laws, and credentialing standards so that all staff are working within their licensure and competency requirements
- Serve as a key liaison between nursing leadership and frontline staff, communicating staffing changes, identifying shortages, and notifying managers of overtime or additional coverage needs
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of staff hours, absences, overtime, and leave, collaborate closely with HR and payroll teams to ensure accuracy in timekeeping and pay processes
- Utilize workforce scheduling systems to create efficient staffing plans, generate reports, and support data-driven decision-making for staffing and scheduling
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required
- Strong interpersonal communication skills required
- Experience in healthcare preferred, preferably in an acute care setting
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment
