Compensation: $60,000
Job PurposeThe Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of workers who inventory materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts in stockroom, warehouse, or yard environments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Maintain layout of stockroom, warehouse, and other storage areas, considering turnover, size, weight, and related factors.
- Study records and recommend remedial actions for non‑usable, slow‑moving, and excess stock.
- Review records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures to determine adequacy of stock levels.
- Schedule work for special and periodic inventories.
- Prepare composite reports from individual reports of Inventory Specialists.
- Trace history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommend remedial actions.
- Issue written and oral instructions and expedite workflow with team members.
- Assign duties and examine work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
- Oversee inbound associates in their daily tasks and job responsibilities.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the manager.
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Write routine reports and correspondence.
- Physically count articles or products on shelves, racks, and pallets.
- Manage payroll validations for all respective IC and inbound associates.
- Utilize computer terminal to account for inventory issues, returns, and documentation.
- Minimum 2 years related experience and/or training in Inventory Control.
- Minimum 1–2 years related experience and/or training in a warehouse environment.
- Experience operating a forklift and a cherry picker/high lift.
- Experience using WMS software (Synapse preferred).
- Working knowledge of Inventory Control practices; KPI reporting, coordinating cycle count programs, product rotation.
- PC literacy with experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access Database.
- High School Diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write reports and correspondence.
- Ability to physically count articles or products on shelves, racks, and pallets.
- Must be able to effectively communicate, read, write, and speak English.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to determine “root cause” of a problem and determine corrective action.
- Knowledge of Business Operating Systems, Internet software, Word Processing, and Spreadsheet software.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required.
- Activate phone systems utilizing keyboards and buttons.
- Speak and communicate clearly over telephones.
- Work in excess of continuous 8 hours when required.
- Maintain work accuracy and concentration on multiple tasks.
- Read and discern visual images on a variety of media with 20/20 corrected vision.
Employee will occasionally be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles. Noise level ranges from quiet to moderately loud.
