• Conduct the daily nursing functions in accordance with company, state, federal and local rules, regulations and guidelines.
• Admit, transfer and discharge residents with proper documentation.
• Participate in the orientation of new residents/family members.
• Participate in facility surveys (inspections) as scheduled.
• Ensure delivery of high‑quality, positive clinical outcomes and resident/family satisfaction during shifts.
• Serve as a resource to all staff regarding the quality of services.
• Administer medications and treatments in a timely manner, comply with facility policy, transcribe and carry out physician orders as permitted by Nurse Practice Act.
• Effectively manage nursing personnel on shift to reduce overtime and agency use.
• Assess work performance of nursing staff relative to unit standards.
• Conduct unit huddles to promote communication and provide updates to DON.
• Participate in shift‑to‑shift communication between incoming and outgoing staff.
• Coordinate shift assignments, resident assignments and rest/meals for Certified Nurse’s Aides.
• Collaborate with other departments to provide timely care consistent with residents’ needs.
• Assume nursing administrative responsibilities for weekend and holiday coverage as requested.
• Stay beyond scheduled shift if required to meet state staffing requirements or resident needs.
• Ensure timely, accurate compliance with the MDS process and reflect the resident’s plan of care.
• Ensure Point Click Care (PCC) is utilized per company process.
• Ensure physician orders are followed as prescribed.
• Effectively carry out medication management and maintain proper supplies per policy.
• Notify resident’s attending physician and family of significant changes in resident health promptly.
• Report incidents, accidents and adverse events promptly to Administrator and Director of Nursing; investigate, document and address per policy and regulation.
• Investigate resident/family complaints and take appropriate action to resolve them.
• Demonstrate knowledge and appropriate use of the company infection control manual.
• Evaluate effectiveness of care interventions, identify problems/trends, develop alternative interventions.
• Other duties and responsibilities may change or be assigned at any time without notice.

• Graduate of an approved Licensed Vocational program and licensed in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility preferred.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.
