Veterinary Technician - Dentistry

Blue Pearl Pet Hospital is hiring a Dental Veterinary Technician!

Pay: LVT I $24.00 - $35.20 / hour

This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on work experience and advancement through our Kahuna leveling program.

• You will perform oral examinations.
• You will perform dental charting.
• You will take dental radiographs with proper positioning and technique.
• You will set up and assist with dental procedures and surgeries.
• You will perform professional dental cleanings including subgingival scaling, root planning, and curettage.
li>You will perform effective oral nerve blocks in preparation for advanced procedures as directed by veterinarian.
• You will be able to calculate basic medical math.
• You will understand classification of commonly used medications, associated side effects and appropriately monitor therapeutic response.
• You will administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
• You will perform phlebotomy.
• You will have the ability to place peripheral intravenous catheters.
• You will perform physical exam; accurately count heart rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort.
• You will induce, monitor anesthesia and recover patients.
