• Assist the Meat & Seafood Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit.
• Responsible for ordering, inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Meat & Seafood team.
• Coordinate production, merchandising, and sales through planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork.
• Lead a team that delivers the finest quality products, highest service level, and the best customer experience.
• Assist in hiring, teaching, training, and developing the Meat & Seafood team.
• Maintain weekly ad items, inventory, and ordering; enforce department practices regarding receiving, stocking, and unloading to ensure freshness and quality. Follow our “Clean as You Go” and “Fresh at 4” programs.
• Unload and sort through store deliveries, operate, and maintain meat & seafood equipment.
• Ensure compliance with all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and verify that the team is aware of and follows these procedures.
• Excel in a fast‑paced environment and manage flexible scheduling including nights, weekends, and holidays.

• At least 18 years old with basic math, weights, and measures knowledge.
• Minimum 2 years professional experience with proven leadership and 2‑3 years of grocery retail experience in meat department processes preferred.
• Dependable, reliable, and able to perform related duties as assigned.
• Outgoing, friendly, positive attitude, and excellent customer interaction skills.
• Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and direction‑taking abilities.
• General housekeeping: cleaning and sanitizing the department.
• Adhere to safety, health, weights and measures regulations, and company recipes.
• Capable of standing up to 4 hours continuously; 8 hours per shift; walking up to 2 miles per 8 hours.
• Work inside temperature‑controlled areas; maintain housekeeping standards.
• Good vision for using sharp knives, band saw, grinder, sausage maker, box cutter, wrapping machine, and tenderizer.
• Lift/carry products horizontally/vertically between 25 to 90 lbs, 4” to 60”, up to 10 feet for 20 hours.
• Use a pallet jack to move pallets up to 500 lbs, 85 lbs force, up to 100 feet for 5 hours.
• Move racks weighing up to 70 lbs, 25 lbs force, up to 50 feet for 10 hours.
• Move tables weighing up to 70 lbs, >35 lbs force, up to 2 feet for 1 hour.
