Material Handler II (Sit-Down, EPJ and Reach Operator)
Shift Times:
- 2nd Shift: Mon – Fri 4 pm‑12:30 am
- D Shift: Sun – Wed 4 pm‑2:30 am
- E Shift: Tue – Fri 4 pm‑2:30 am
- F Shift: Sun – Mon – Thu – Fri 4 pm‑2:30 am
Compensation: $20‑$21 per hour.

Job Purpose:
To operate forklifts safely and efficiently; manage inbound and outbound freight; maintain orderly stacking; load/unload RJW trucks, trailers, and outside carrier equipment; ensure accurate staging, checking, and loading of shipments; provide material handling services for shipping and receiving activities; work from warehouse operations sheets using a forklift to pick customer orders and load on trailers; uphold forklift safety by following all safety policies and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist the Warehouse Manager to ensure efficient operation of the warehouse.
- Operate sit‑down forklifts and EPJs.
- Use computers and handheld RF equipment.
- Load and unload RJW truck / trailer equipment safely and efficiently, including outside carrier equipment.
- Work 10‑12 hour shifts when necessary and handle heights.
- Pick and move stock from 1 lb – 50 lb multiple times.
- Ensure all shipments are correctly staged and loaded.
- Maintain warehouse area with orderly stacking and good housekeeping.
- Process outbound cross‑dock freight as needed.
- Oversee proper storage of stock and move product into storage racks.
- Use warehouse operations sheets and forklifts to pick customer orders and load on trailers.
- Verify accuracy of shipments against paperwork for incoming and outgoing shipments or deliveries.
- Complete all documentation and paperwork properly.
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently, following OSHA regulations and RJW safety policies.
- Wear seatbelts at all times when operating the forklift.
- Complete daily forklift maintenance inspections.
- Handle all customer products properly and orderly.
- Check deliveries for poor packing, general condition, and free of damage; alert the Warehouse Supervisor and take pictures if necessary.
- Report all accidents or incidents, damage of stock, or building damage to the Shift Supervisor immediately.
- Spot trailers to maintain efficient yard organization and flow of equipment for the day.
- Maintain access to dock doors inside and outside the facility, keeping them clear of debris or snow.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Possess a sense of urgency, accountability, and the ability to work with limited supervision.
- Read, write, and understand English.
- Pay attention to detail and quality.
- Communicate clearly and concisely; resolve problems and demonstrate people skills.
- Be flexible for overtime and coverage of other shifts.
- Have PC skills; helpful experience on sit‑down forklifts/EPJs.
- Experience building pallets and breaking down stock to fill independent orders.
- Experience in cross‑dock freight processes.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced warehouse environment.
Qualifications:
- 3‑6 months of forklift driving experience in a warehouse using sit‑down forklifts and electric pallet jacks.
- Good, stable work record.
Education and/or Experience
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Warehousing certifications are a plus.
