Tax Preparer

We are seeking a skilled and detail-driven Tax Preparer to join a reputable Metairie accounting firm known for personalized service and long-standing client relationships. This role requires strong technical tax knowledge, accuracy, and the ability to communicate professionally with clients throughout the filing process.

• Collect, verify, and input financial data and supporting documentation for tax preparation
• Prepare individual, corporate, partnership, and small‑business tax returns (1040, 1065, 1120, 1120S, etc.)
• Review, proof, and run draft returns prior to finalization
• Electronically file returns and ensure proper documentation is maintained
• Monitor project timelines and communicate updates to clients regarding status or missing information
• Assist with resolving notices or follow-up requests as needed
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality and compliance with firm and IRS standards

• Prior tax preparation experience required (public accounting experience a plus)
• Strong working knowledge of federal and Louisiana state tax regulations
• Experience with professional tax software (Drake, Lacerte, Pro Series, or similar)
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with clients
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple returns during peak periods
