Our success starts with an investment in and commitment to our people. The Project Estimator will report directly to the Director of Preconstruction. As Project Estimator, you’ll be involved in all aspects of the construction process on a variety of projects from historic renovations and restorations to architecturally forward ground-up projects.
Your main responsibilities will be to prepare budgets by studying specifications, reviewing drawings, negotiating contracts, and identifying all project costs for a variety of jobs. All while effectively communicating with architects, design professionals, subcontractors, and suppliers in order to obtain bids while qualifying all subcontractors and negotiating price.

Key Role Responsibilities- Uphold the core values
- Analyze project proposals to evaluate and prepare requests for estimates
- Prepare weekly bid calendar and ensures timely completion of estimates
- Review estimates and revisions for completeness and accuracy
- Attend bid meetings and develop and execute bid strategy
- Gather construction documents and review historical cost data to understand scope of work to bid
- Execute quantity surveys of construction documents
- Prepare estimates in corporate software
- Obtain pricing for materials
- Obtain bids from subcontractors
- Prepare cost analysis in computer by recapitulating material, labor, equipment, subcontractor and overhead costs incurred in the installation of items
- Make an estimate where predetermined standard(s) are not available
- Develop and maintain resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, government requirements, etc.
- Attend departmental meetings as required
- Build relationships with all partners (trade partners, owners, design teams, etc)
- Lead meetings as necessary for design‑assist processes
- Track and effectively communicate price fluctuations throughout design‑assist processes
- At least three years of estimating experience in Commercial Building Construction
- Working knowledge of construction estimating concepts
- Skilled in reading and interpreting plans and specifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
- Highly Organized
- Ability to juggle multiple projects at once & meet hard deadlines
