Atmos Energy has an opening for a Construction Operator in its East Bank of Jefferson Parish and St Bernard Parish location. Residency requirement in place. This is an entry level position responsible for basic construction and maintenance activities of a natural gas utility system. May operate heavy and/or specialized equipment and tools.

• High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
• Valid driver’s license per Company standards.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift up to 88 lbs.
• Natural Gas Utility Construction experience is a plus. CDL Class A is a plus.

• Performs basic, routine work using clearly prescribed procedures and seeks guidance for deviations.
• Assists in installation and maintenance of natural gas lines, meters and regulators.
• May assist in conducting leakage surveys.
• Completes and maintains accurate records to comply with Company and regulatory requirements.

• May be required to hold stand-by duty, work shifts, holidays, weekends, emergency call outs, and occasional extended hours.
• Is subject to reporting outside regular work area and may work with safety and encroachment issues.
• Responsible for safe operation and inspection of assigned Company vehicles and equipment.
• Supports the Company’s values and safety culture; completes required safety training.

• Works outdoors in all types of weather; may be exposed to extreme temperatures, high noise levels, and rough terrain. May work on ladders, roofs, attics, under houses, and in confined spaces. Overnight travel may be required.
• Physical demands include lifting up to 88 pounds, carrying 88 pounds a short distance, and other mobility requirements such as bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.

• As a Safety-Sensitive position, pre- and post-employment screenings (including DOT/PHMSA requirements) and motor vehicle record checks are required.
