POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated Senior Mechanical Engineer with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent and a minimum of 5‑7 years of shipyard or marine HVAC design experience. The candidate will be responsible for complete system design from conceptual level to production design of Marine Ventilation and Air Conditioning.

REQUIREMENTS

• Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent and have a minimum of 5‑7 years of shipyard or marine HVAC design experience
• Must have basic computer skills using Microsoft applications (i.e., MS Excel, MS Word) and AutoCAD
• Equipment selection and incorporation of ventilation and cooling systems for complete design on vessels
• Military or government design experience with supporting calculations/design reviews
• Knowledge of SNAME 4‑16, ASHRAE, or similar design criteria

SKILLS

• Must be self‑motivated and exhibit excellent communication and leadership skills
• Familiarity with CFR, ABS, NVIC, SOLAS, and USCG rules and regulations for mechanical systems along with other applicable regulations

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Must have knowledge of marine insulation, machinery ventilation, and air conditioning
• Perform necessary calculations to validate design and submit required reports to classification society and/or customer
• Must have the ability to use computer‑assisted engineering software to design the products or systems
• Ability to support all production and testing activities
