Role SummaryAs a Structural Engineer, you will provide engineering and consulting services for flood‑risk reduction, waterfront infrastructure resilience, dam safety, and lock and navigation structure design projects in Baton Rouge, Metairie, New Orleans, Louisiana, or Mobile, Alabama.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct structural analysis, design, and engineering during construction services for climate adaptation projects, including seismic risk reduction, flood mitigation, and infrastructure resilience initiatives.
- Perform engineering investigations, calculations, and planning work within defined scopes.
- Research feasibility of alternative design approaches, site conditions, and regulatory agency specifications.
- Develop calculations, plans, specifications, requests for proposals, and other contract documents.
- Collaborate with engineering disciplines, office/project staff, clients, and sub‑contractors throughout the project life cycle, communicating effectively both orally and in writing.
- Exercise independent judgment on work details, preliminary selections, and adaptation of engineering alternatives.
- Serve as Design Lead, Task Manager, or Project Engineer to manage budgets, schedules, deliverables, permits, scopes of work, and coordination for timely project completion.
- Travel as needed for site visits, client meetings, safety audits, and construction oversight.
- Mentor entry‑level and junior structural engineering staff.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration or EIT with the ability to obtain a PE within 6 months of hire.
- Experience designing flood walls, flood gates, retaining wall structures, and deep foundations on resiliency projects.
- Master’s degree in Structural Engineering (or equivalent) is a plus.
- Proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as STAAD, MathCAD, AutoCAD, and Revit.
- Ability to write project specifications and address engineering issues during construction.

Salary range: $80,461 – $132,761 per year (adjusted for experience, education, budget, and location).
