Keystone Engineering is seeking a Lead Civil/Structural Engineer to join our Metairie team.

The Metairie Civil/Structural Engineering department is a well-rounded team of engineers with various levels of experience and a wide range of project backgrounds. The group prides itself on being a collaborative team that works together to solve complex problems for our clients. Our clients applaud our ability to use outside-the-box thinking to deliver unconventional solutions when needed. Most of our projects are executed using local teams that work in proximity to the other engineers and designers on the project.

Our team members largely come from oil & gas or energy structural engineering backgrounds. Traditionally, engineering teams have divided this work into either the offshore or onshore category, but many of our team members integrate seamlessly across these project types and the spaces in between. Travel Requirements

Occasional site visits to client sites are required to gather field data.

Essential Functions
  • Performs structural analyses, design, and calculations for steel and/or reinforced concrete structures, including deep and shallow foundations.
  • Performs as a discipline lead on single-discipline projects with little guidance.
  • Performs as a discipline lead on multi-discipline projects with some guidance from department management.
  • Plans work, meets deadlines, and controls budget.
  • Capable of checking drawings and calculations.
  • Communicate effectively with project team members and managers, including other disciplines.
  • Develop strong relationships with clients and support incoming requests in a timely manner.
  • Works with designers by reviewing models and providing sketches and guidance to develop project drawings.
Requirements
  • B.S. or higher in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university, structural emphasis preferred.
  • 8-12 years of experience in civil/structural engineering.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.).
  • Experience with bolted and welded connection design.
  • Background in designing structural steel and foundations for oil & gas or other industrial facilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with at least one structural analysis software (Bentley SACS, RISA-3D, or STAAD.Pro) and the willingness to learn additional platforms.
  • Working knowledge of industry codes, including AISC (9th & 15th editions), ASCE 7, API-RP2A, and/or ACI 318.
  • Ability to clearly and concisely document calculations to satisfy Keystone quality procedures.
  • Applicant must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer.
Experience Preferred
  • Graduate-level coursework with emphasis on structures or foundation engineering.
  • Proficient in RISAFoundation for structural analysis and design.
  • Experience with IDEA Stati Ca or other similar connection design software.
  • Background in the design of reinforced concrete structures and foundations.
  • Familiarity with client-specific civil/structural specifications and recommended practices used by major oil & gas operators.
  • Knowledge of Process Industry Practices (PIP) design guides, specifications, and standard details.
  • Experience with the design of foundations for rotating equipment in accordance with API-686.
  • Experience working on brownfield projects in industrial complexes (i.e., a refinery or petrochemical plants).
