Director of Engineering - PEMB

We are seeking an experienced Director of Engineering to lead and oversee engineering operations for a growing Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB) contractor. This role is responsible for managing engineering teams, ensuring code compliance, optimizing design processes, and supporting fabrication and construction operations. The ideal candidate is a licensed Professional Engineer with deep PEMB expertise and strong leadership experience.

• Lead and manage the engineering department, including design engineers, detailers, and support staff
• Oversee PEMB structural design using Metal Building Software (MBS)
• Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, standards, and regulations across multiple jurisdictions
• Review, approve, and seal engineering drawings and calculations as required
• Coordinate with estimating, fabrication, and project management teams to support successful project execution
• Establish and improve engineering standards, workflows, and best practices
• Provide technical guidance on complex or high-profile projects
• Support multi-state licensure compliance and engineering approvals

• Professional Engineer (PE) license required; multi-state licensure preferred, including Louisiana
• 10+ years of experience working with Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings (PEMB)
• Extensive hands-on experience with Metal Building Software (MBS)
• Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams
• Strong knowledge of structural steel design, building codes, and PEMB systems
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
