Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift ICU position requiring a LA or compact license and expertise with Epic EMR.
Responsibilities- Work in the ICU of a hospital setting
- Night shifts, 3x12 hours, 19:00–07:30
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2, occasionally flexing to 1:3
- Float required to all ICU units, and may float to ED or PACU to manage ICU patients; possible float to MS/PCU with a 1:4 ratio
- Weekend coverage required with 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
- Uses equipment such as Alaris IV Pumps, CADD PCA pumps, Servo I ventilators, Fresenius CRRT Dialysis machines, Edwards Lifesciences cardiac monitors, Medtronic EVD systems, Arctic Sun TMS, GE Monitors, Hill Rom Beds, Pyxis Medication Station, and Veratron Bladder Scanner
- Epic EMR experience required
- Nurses are responsible for performing lab sticks, EKGs, and initiating lines
- May be assigned patients in different departments and settings as needed
- Returning permanent employees must have a 1-year separation from any LCMC facility to be eligible
- RTO is limited to a maximum of 5 days
- 75-mile radius rule applies for candidate eligibility
- Active LA or compact RN license
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, and NIHSS
- Experience with Epic required
- Ability to perform lab sticks, EKGs, and line starts
- Must be able to provide care to COVID-19 and other isolation patients
- Must know N95 mask size
