Store Manager

The Manager in Training assists the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager with overall operations, administrative duties, and asset control. This role requires expertise in each product area or department, understanding of inventory, sales statistics, and expenses, and the ability to uphold Hibbett's policies, visual and customer‑service standards. The Manager in Training provides exceptional customer service, promotes merchandise and sales, maintains store profitability, and assumes supervisory control in the Store Manager's absence.

• Assist the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett.
• Collaborate on action plans to accomplish departmental and overall store responsibilities such as selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
• Assume responsibility for the entire store during the absence of the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager.
• Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers across all departments when necessary.
• Monitor inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability in all departments.
• Direct staff to ensure each department’s responsibilities and standards are completed.
• Keep the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager informed about inventory movement and customer trends.
• Ensure quality customer service is maintained.
• Perform general administrative duties as needed and receive training in the Store Manager’s responsibilities.
• Deliver extraordinary customer service highlighted in the customer service manual, including assisting customers entering the store and supporting multiple customers during peak periods.
• Promote and sell services and merchandise provided by Hibbett.
• Practice and uphold all Hibbett I City Gear policies, procedures, and standards as listed in the operations, personnel, visual, and customer‑service manuals.
• Protect the company’s assets and financial information by ensuring accuracy and effectiveness of internal control procedures and reporting potential fraud risks to management or appropriate officials.

• Supervise employees in the absence of the Store Manager, including interviewing, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, and resolving problems in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.

• Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
• 1‑3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to assist in managing a team and keep up with overall goals and profits.
• Self‑starter with initiative to take on important tasks without being asked.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and with precision.
• Team‑player, passionate about outstanding customer service and selling merchandise.
