Primary Responsibilities- Design, construct, remodel, retrofit and repair interior and exterior structures made of wood, drywall, plaster, concrete or brick.
- Design, construct, retrofit and repair cabinets, tables, shelves, benches, partitions, flooring, door and window frames, and other types of furniture; may install and repair modular furniture.
- Cleans, maintains, adjusts, calibrates and services equipment used in the performance of duties.
- Monitors work done by outside contractors for adherence to state and federal code requirements and reports back to superintendent.
- Assists with installs, repairs and maintains building roofs.
- Assists in the writing of specifications for repairs and new construction as needed.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
PhysicalDemands
The position lifts heavy objects, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue; and effectively jumps, sprints or throws objects. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination.
The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs. The employee must have excellent stamina.
- Thorough knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in both rough and finished carpentry in both residential and commercial/industrial settings.
- Working knowledge of and ability to apply building and safety code requirements.
- Methods and practices followed in the maintenance of tools, machinery, and equipment.
- Safety:
Candidates will be expected to know and follow TMG safety policy and procedures at all times. Candidates must report any potential safety hazards to the superintendent as soon as they are identified. Zero tolerance policy for unsafe working practices. - Pre-employment:
Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening and background check. Post-hire may be selected for additional drug screenings at random, according to company policy. - Transportation:
Candidates should have reliable means of transportation to and from the job site and may be asked to travel between job sites.
