Staff Electrical Engineer
Join Globus Medical’s rapidly growing medical robotics division as a Senior Electrical Engineer. You will design, implement, and sustain electrical systems for medical robots in close collaboration with surgeons, researchers, and a cross‑functional engineering team. This hands‑on role requires creative and systematic product development with minimal supervision.
Essential Functions- Design, develop, and debug FPGA electrical circuits and hardware based on requirements.
- Manage component selection, schematics, and layouts in Altium.
- Interface with PCB designers to complete circuit board layouts and documentation packages.
- Develop test fixtures and procedures to evaluate hardware.
- Maintain compliance with industry standards such as IEC 60601.
- Adhere to the company’s Code of Conduct, Adva Med Code, Med Tech Code, and all other policies.
- Ensure compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations through required training and knowledge updates.
- Represent the company professionally and uphold the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct.
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 8+ years of electrical engineering experience or Master’s degree with a minimum of 6+ years.
- Experience with FPGA, common communication interfaces (USB, Ethernet, MIPI, SPI, I2C, LVDS), image sensors, and ultrasound transducers.
- Proficient in PCB development (schematic, layout, debugging) and EM/EMC testing.
- Experience with IEC 60601 and NRTL testing.
- Solid background in analog/digital circuit design, signal processing, A/D and D/A converters, power circuits, and firmware development in C and Verilog.
- Comfortable with schematic capture tools (Altium) and circuit modelling (PSpice).
- Skilled with electrical test equipment such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
- Required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Required to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally up to 25 pounds.
- Required to possess specific vision abilities, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
