Its primary focus is providing high-quality patient care to residents throughout the Merrimack Valley. Recognized nationally as a leader in community medicine—including family practice, pediatrics, internal medicine, and geriatrics—GLFHC operates clinical sites across the area and sponsors the Lawrence Family Medicine Residency program.

GLFHC is seeking a Referral Specialist responsible for ensuring patients are cleared for specialty service visits. This role involves processing prior authorizations, scheduling appointments, and tracking referrals.

• Must be able to don appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Prepares and processes referral and pre-authorization paperwork.
• Contacts clinics, facilities, and companies to obtain information necessary for completing referrals and pre-authorizations.
• Utilizes third-party payer and insurance portals; possesses detailed knowledge of insurance providers, their portals, and authorization requirements.
• Calls patients within 48 hours of initial referral to provide updates.
• Schedule:
  
  Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts.
• Work arrangement:
  Hybrid schedule.

• Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Medical or administrative training.
• Minimum of one year of experience in a hospital or clinical environment.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
