Maintenance Technician
Maintenance Technician needed in Metuchen Schools District. 12-month position. Our salary guide starts at Step 1 at $44,226/year, 12-month position, for the 26-27 school year. We offer generous health benefits, as well as paid sick, family illness, emergency, vacation and personal days.
Qualifications:
Candidate must pass a mandatory background check, as mandated by the Department of Education. Minimum of five (5) years building maintenance experience. Black Seal Boilers License preferred or must obtain within first year of employment. Must have valid Driver's License and clean driving record.
Major
Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs a wide variety of building maintenance tasks including but not limited too; inspections, preventative maintenance for all district equipment.Repairs and adjustments to the following: glass, door and window hardware, door closers, locks, hinges, ceilings, ceiling tiles, heating, air conditioning, ventilation equipment repairs/replacement, new service, public address systems, flooring, desk repair, window blinds, carpentry, painting, flooring, etc.Take care of all district tools, materials and suppliesPerform every task in a safe and efficient mannerAssists in loading and unloading materialsKeeps the maintenance area clean and in safe working conditionClean up area where work in being performedAssists in grounds and custodial tasksReport any unsafe condition immediately to the supervisorExecute all work orders and preventive maintenance work orders, promptly and efficientlyEnsure that all flammables are stored in proper cabinets and or containersSnow removalThe above is not inclusive of your responsibilities and will be adjusted to meet the needs of the district.AA/EOE - Metuchen Schools is committed to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
