Site Manager
We're looking for a practical, switched-on Site Supervisor / Assistant Site Managers ready to take the next step in their career journey to join a growing team.
This isn't a role for someone who wants to sit in an office and tell everyone else what to do.
We're looking for someone who understands how a site works, takes health & safety seriously, communicates well with people and is happy to get stuck in when needed.
You may already be an experienced Site Supervisor, or you could be newly qualified and ready to take the next step. What's important is that you have the right attitude, understand the basics of site operations and can take responsibility for maintaining a safe, organised and productive working environment.
What You'll Be Doing- Supervising day-to-day activities on site
- Ensuring work is carried out safely and in line with company procedures
- Supporting the Site Manager / Project Manager with the smooth running of the site
- Communicating clearly with operatives, subcontractors and other site personnel
- Monitoring work progress and helping keep activities on programme
- Carrying out site checks and ensuring standards are maintained
- Supporting site inductions, toolbox talks and briefings
- Identifying and addressing health & safety issues before they become problems
- Challenging unsafe working practices when necessary
- Helping coordinate materials, equipment and deliveries
- Keeping site records and completing relevant paperwork
- Liaising with management and providing updates on progress or issues
- Helping resolve problems as they arise
- Getting involved practically when required and supporting the wider team
We're looking for someone who is:
- CSCS carded and able to work on construction sites
- You must hold a full UK driving licence
- Experienced in a site-based environment, or newly qualified with good practical/site knowledge
- Experience on commercial projects is an advantage
- Confident in understanding and following health & safety procedures
- A strong communicator who can deal with people at all levels
- Organised and able to prioritise
- Comfortable taking responsibility and making decisions
- Confident enough to challenge something when it isn't right
- Practical and hands-on in their approach
- Reliable, professional and willing to learn
- Someone who takes pride in doing things properly
- Valid CSCS card appropriate to the role
- Good understanding of construction/site operations
- Good understanding of health & safety
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a site team
- SSSTS
- Relevant NVQ/SVQ or construction qualification
- Previous experience in a Site Supervisor, Foreman, Chargehand or similar role
- Experience working alongside subcontractors and site teams
We would also consider newly qualified candidates who can demonstrate strong practical knowledge, the right attitude and a genuine interest in developing their career in site supervision.
The PersonThis role will suit someone who is hands-on, switched-on and takes ownership.
You don't need to know everything on day one. What matters is that you understand the importance of doing things safely, can communicate with people, aren't afraid to ask questions and will step up when something needs dealing with.
You should be comfortable being the person on site who spots a problem, communicates it and helps find the solution.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who can lead by example - safety first, communicate properly, get involved and get the job done.
