Senior Project Manager – Heavy Civil Construction

We’re seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex heavy civil construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role is ideal for a confident leader who can manage large, high-stakes infrastructure projects while driving results, building partnerships, and maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and schedule.

Industry Focus

Heavy civil, bridge, structural steel, and infrastructure construction

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all aspects of project delivery — ensuring safety, profitability, and schedule compliance
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders across the project lifecycle
  • Direct project team members including APMs, engineers, superintendents, schedulers, and others
  • Oversee the project hand-off from estimating to execution
  • Ensure all project documentation, RFIs, submittals, schedules, and reporting are timely and accurate
  • Select and negotiate with subcontractors and vendors
  • Monitor and adjust work methods in the field to stay within budget and timeline targets
  • Ensure strict adherence to company and regulatory safety and quality standards
  • Collaborate with safety and quality departments to manage inspections, audits, and compliance
  • Engage in broader company initiatives to drive continuous improvement
Requirements
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in heavy civil, bridge, or structural steel construction
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams on complex infrastructure projects
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering preferred
  • Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred
  • Class 1 Railroad experience a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong planning, leadership, and problem-solving abilities
  • Willingness to travel as needed

This is a high-impact leadership position with growth potential and visibility across major civil infrastructure projects. If you have the technical experience, field knowledge, and leadership drive to lead large-scale heavy civil construction efforts, we’d like to connect with you.

You can confidentially contact with any further questions.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, age, color, sex (including pregnancy), religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, military status, genetic information, or any other status protected by applicable laws or regulations.
