Accounts Payable Clerk

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to support accurate and timely payment operations for a local government organization in Surfside, Florida. This role is responsible for reviewing invoices, maintaining proper coding, and helping ensure disbursements are processed in accordance with established financial procedures. The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, sound organizational skills, and prior experience handling high-volume accounts payable activities.

Responsibilities:

• Review incoming invoices for accuracy, completeness, and proper authorization before processing
• Assign correct accounting codes to invoices and enter payment data into the financial system
• Prepare and coordinate regular check runs to ensure vendors are paid within required time frames
• Maintain organized accounts payable records and supporting documentation for audit and compliance purposes
• Resolve invoice discrepancies by communicating with internal departments and external vendors
• Monitor payment schedules and follow established procedures to support timely disbursements
• Use Tyler Technologies Munis to process accounts payable transactions and update related records
