Private Equity Origination Analyst; Pre-MBA​/Early Career

Newflow Partners is a Miami-based buyside M&A advisory firm founded by former private equity investors from New Mountain Capital and Summit Partners. We partner directly with leading private equity firms and their portfolio companies to originate proprietary, off-market M&A transactions.

The Opportunity

We are hiring an Origination Analyst to sit at the front end of the M&A deal lifecycle. In this role, you will identify, engage, and qualify prospective acquisition targets, establishing relationships with business owners on behalf of institutional private equity clients.

This is a high-autonomy, performance-driven seat designed for ambitious professionals who want direct exposure to private equity transactions and senior deal makers from day one.

What You’ll Do

• Target Identification & Industry Research: Map fragmented markets, build thematic target lists, and analyze acquisition targets across multiple industry sectors.
• High-Impact Outbound Outreach: Drive proactive outreach to founders, CEOs, and business owners. This is a front-line origination role; a meaningful portion of your week will involve initiating phone calls and direct conversations.
• Opportunity Qualification: Lead initial discovery conversations to evaluate business model, financial profile, shareholder objectives, and strategic fit before introducing qualified targets to our clients.
• Articulate Investment Theses: Translate complex PE investment criteria into compelling narratives that resonate with private business owners.
• Pipeline Management: Maintain institutional hygiene across our CRM, tracking key metrics, outreach velocity, and deal stages.
• Senior Collaboration: Work alongside the firm’s partners and interface directly with investment teams at top-tier private equity funds.

Who We’re Looking For

• Background: Typically 0–2 years of experience in investment banking, management consulting, corporate law/paralegal programs, B2B/enterprise sales (SDR/BDR), or a similarly rigorous training ground.
• Competitive Drive: Former collegiate varsity athletes, military veterans, and high-achievers with a demonstrated track record in competitive, performance-based environments are strongly encouraged to apply.
• Strong Verbal Presence: Poised, articulate, and confident picking up the phone to hold high-stakes conversations with business owners.
• Resilience & Grit: Coachable, comfortable with direct feedback, and unfazed by rejection.
• Intellectual Curiosity: Genuine interest in how businesses make money, what drives competitive moats, and why investors acquire them.
