Position

Responsibilities
  • Works in conjunction with Manager for hiring, training and retention of staff.
  • Provides supervision, guidance and direction to staff assigned to his/her area and co-workers.
  • Completes yearly performance evaluations and competencies of staff under their supervision.
  • Assists the Manager with monitoring of staff's time and attendance and makes recommendations for actions and improvement. Assumes the leading responsibilities for the daily functions of the assigned area(s) during Manager's absence.
  • Provides feedback to the reporting group on an on going basis. Points out areas of opportunity in a constructive manner. Provides positive feedback and recognizes accomplishments appropriately.
  • Supervises the development of the staff work schedule, in accordance with medical center and department needs.
  • Coordinates the activities of the Distribution staff regarding stock rotation and expiration outdate procedures.
  • Coordinates Supply Scan and PMM materials management supply system functions.
  • Trains and updates personnel on a daily basis as specified in the policy and procedure for the Materials Management distribution department.
  • Compares inventory count against the computerized counts for accuracy on a daily basis.
  • Reports inventory variances and required adjustments to the Manager and Buyers.
  • Checks stock to ensure proper stock rotation and outdated material on a daily basis.
  • Receives stock utilizing Materials Management system, assuring quantity received is accurate prior to releasing order as stated in policy and procedure manual.
  • Demonstrates a high level of accuracy when processing requisitions into Materials Management inventory system.
  • Reviews supply inventory available in the storeroom and advises Buyers as to urgently needed supply items.
  • Processes all supply issues to departments by entering requisitions into computer perpetual inventory system.
  • Demonstrates a significant level of medical supply product knowledge.
  • Demonstrates a knowledge of hospital accounting classifications and cost centers pertinent to a given supply purchase requisition.
Qualifications
  • High school or equivalent degree required.
  • Minimum of two years experience in healthcare Materials Management required.
  • One year healthcare supervisory position and warehouse materials handling.
  • One year experience using an automated inventory system.
