Andaz Miami Beach is now recruiting an On Call Banquets Server to join the hotel’s team. An art-deco building and architectural landmark is home to the newest luxury lifestyle hotel located in the heart of Mid-beach. The property boasts 287 guestrooms including 64 breathtaking suites and the ONLY Ocean-view arrival experience in Miami Beach. The design features elements of texture, art, and pops of color that create a unique and captivating experience.

Each suite is designed with floor-to-ceiling windows, most with deep-soaking tubs, and cozy reading nooks. Guests can also enjoy private outdoor terraces with stunning views of the Atlantic and the Miami skyline. Unmatched amenities include a full-service spa, a well-equipped fitness center, a destination dining experience by José Andrés, two pools, and a Beach Club catering to the who’s who of Miami.

Spanning 25,000 square feet of innovative indoor and outdoor event space, Andaz Miami Beach will become a landing spot for guests and locals seeking celebratory gatherings that embrace the city's culture of music, art, and fashion.

Event servers are responsible for food and drink service at hotel banquet functions. They make sure function space visually appealing and present the menu offering for the event. This may include linen and table setting, food station design, and beverage service. Other duties include general banquet preparation, room refreshes, and maintaining a sanitary environment.

• Set up event room as requested by the supervisor to include glassware, service ware, linen.
• Attend pre-shift before events begin in order to learn function particulars, including hotel and guest expectations
• Greet and welcome guests and respond to their requests in a courteous and friendly manner.
• Serve the beverage and food in the appropriate order and in tune with the expectation of the supervisor so as to ensure consistency throughout the banquet
• Quickly remove dishes as guests finish each meal at the end of each meal or function
• Abide by all corporate act, laws and requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages
• Replenish beverages when necessary, and check with guests to make sure they are satisfied
• Maintain cleanliness of the event space throughout the function, including waste disposal and ensuring surfaces are clean.
• Ensure ell equipment and supplies are properly handled and returned to designated storage areas.
• After the function, reset event room in accordance with the supervisor’s specifications to ensure the readiness of the room for other functions
• Perform other related functions that may be assigned.

Event Services - Server Requirements and Qualifications

• High school diploma and/or certificate in relevant training.
• Must have basic knowledge of service standards, guest relations, food and beverage preparations as well as etiquette
• A minimum of one (1) year experience in food and beverage preparation or customer service is preferred. Hotel experience is preferred.
• Must have physical stamina to lift moderate amounts of weight;
• Ability to walk, bend, and stand for extended periods.
• A positive attitude and ability work well under pressure with cooks and other staff.
• A valid food badge
• Refined verbal communication skills;
• Ability to work a flexible schedule; weekends, holidays, overnight shifts
• Well-groomed, professional appearance.
