JOBOVERVIEW
The Assistant Pool and Beach Manager assists the Pool and Beach Director in planning and managing the Pool and Beach areas/team in order to achieve guest satisfaction/Five-star service, compliance with company policies/procedures and federal, state and local regulations while meeting/exceeding financial goals. The position is responsible for assisting the Pool and Beach Director in the short-term planning managing the operations of the Pool and Beach.
DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leads, teaches, and coaches our Pool and Beach Teams to successfully retain/achieve Five Star Service consistently.
- Effectively develops guest rapport and achieves positive guest comment card scores consistently.
- Drives creativity and innovation in pool and waterman bar guest experience and product development.
- Resolves guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Monitors and maintains cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
- Understands and responds to all guest needs and request in a timely and professional manner.
- Assists in creating, implementing and updating departmental procedures, manuals, etc.
- Assists in creating and issuing team member counseling and/or disciplinary forms as needed.
- Maintains pool and beach policies and procedures, ensures professional standards of operations.
- Maintains adequate inventory of all necessary pool and beach supplies and equipment.
- Assists in planning & developing procedures to improve operations within the department.
- Recognizes and responds effectively to emergencies.
- Upholds an open-door policy to ensure management is available for team members and their questions/concerns are addressed.
- Oversees the development of the team through training, coaching and mentoring
- Works closely with the Quality and Training Director assuring the team is properly and thoroughly trained.
- Conducts training programs on the required job functions with criterion expected and department orientation with new hires and trainees. Conducts ongoing training with existing team members.
- Helps create and complete work schedules, records and reports when needed.
- Completes daily payroll reports and prepares final time-log.
- Assists to monitors and control departmental expenditures according to budget.
- Calculates future needs in equipment, assist in placing orders as needed
- Provides a favorable image of Faena Hotel Culture to promote its philosophy and luxury etiquette.
- Keeps Pool and Beach Director promptly and fully informed of all issues of all issues (problems, unusual matters of significance and positive events) and takes prompt corrective action where necessary or suggests alternative courses of action.
- Completes job responsibilities and performance objectives in a timely and effective manner and according with Faena Hotel culture policies and procedures.
- Continuously reviews the operation and makes recommendations on how to enhance the service.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Restaurant Assistant Manager/Supervisor.
- Familiarity with food and beverage cost controls.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- Must have effective communication skills both verbal and written in English and Spanish
- High school education or equivalent.
- Must exhibit an approachable, authentic and engaging demeanor, setting an example for all Spa staff
- Exhibit a professional attitude, diplomacy and an ability to handle difficult situations
- Demonstrate an exceptional environment of sincerity, warmth and fun for staff and guests.
- Highly responsible, reliable and ethical. A reputation for honesty and integrity.

- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.
- Ability to work days, nights and weekends; when necessary.
