Responsibilities:- Monitors, evaluates, documents, and troubleshoots patients on critical care equipment (pacemakers, ventilators, IABP, CRRT, ICP monitors, pulmonary artery catheters, femoral lines).
- Monitors and manages patients on critical drips (e.g., Diprivan, vasopressors, paralytics).
- Provides care for hemodynamically compromised cardiac surgical patients.
- Performs initial admission assessment, vital signs, history, and timely physician notification.
- Completes and documents comprehensive physical, psychological, and shift assessments.
- Interprets diagnostic data and initiates appropriate interventions.
- Assesses and provides ongoing patient and family education, including psychosocial needs.
- Initiates and updates interdisciplinary plans of care and establishes care priorities.
- Safely initiates and documents emergency interventions and routine nursing care.
- Administers IV therapy and medications safely, documenting effectiveness and adverse reactions.
- Performs pre‑ and post‑operative care, hygiene care, dressing changes, catheterization, glucose monitoring, and enteral feedings using aseptic technique.
- Collects/labels specimens, secures patient valuables, and maintains standard precautions.
- Manages skin/wound care and performs ostomy care and oxygen therapy.
- Transfers patients efficiently, ensuring complete documentation and proper handoff.
- Evaluates and documents patient progress, outcomes, care plans, and discharge needs.
- Participates in professional development and unit communication (meetings, competencies, in‑service education).
- Demonstrates leadership by delegating duties, participating in PI activities, collecting data, and documenting supply use.
- Current Florida Nursing License (required)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (required)
