Responsibilities:
  • Float between all ICU floors (Medical, Neuro and Cardiac)
  • Monitors and evaluates patients on external and transvenous pacemakers.
  • Manages patients on critical drips, including Diprivan, vasopressors, and paralytics.
  • Assesses, documents, and troubleshoots hemodynamic responses using specialty equipment (IABP, CRRT).
  • Monitors and documents patients with invasive lines, including femoral and pulmonary artery catheters.
  • Oversees patients receiving Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT).
  • Monitors and manages patients on ventilator support and intracranial pressure monitoring.
  • Provides safe, comprehensive care to hemodynamically compromised cardio‑surgical patients.
  • Perform vital signs and admission history, assess chief complaints, and notify physicians within 15 minutes.
  • Complete comprehensive nursing admission assessment within eight hours, including physiological, psychological, and psychosocial factors.
  • Conduct and document system assessments at the beginning of each shift.
  • Assess and respond to diagnostic data, patient education needs, and psychosocial requirements.
  • Prioritize and adapt care plans based on patient needs and outcomes.
  • Initiate, document, and implement interventions in emergencies and routine care.
  • Administer medications, observe effectiveness, and report adverse reactions.
  • Provide individualized education to patients and families about the plan of care each shift.
  • Operate and maintain unit‑specific equipment, including aseptic techniques for dressing changes and catheter insertions.
  • Address daily hygiene needs, pre/post‑operative care, and feeding via NG/gastrostomy/jejunostomy tubes.
  • Follow standard precautions, hand hygiene, and hospital protocols for intravenous therapy, specimen collection, and glucose monitoring.
  • Implement skin and wound protocols, perform dressing changes, and provide ostomy care as required.
  • Document and evaluate responses to interventions, revise care plans based on progress, and coordinate transfer/discharge planning efficiently.
Requirements:
  • Current Florida Nursing License (required)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (required)
  • CCRN preferred
  • 1 year RN with Post Open Heart Recovery in ICU
