Job Title: Technical Designer
Employment Type: Full-Time M-F 9:00 AM-5:30 PM
About the RoleWe are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Technical Designer with 2–8 years of experience in apparel production and product development. The Technical Designer will serve as the critical link between design, production, and factories, ensuring that design concepts are translated into high-quality, production-ready garments. The ideal candidate is highly organized, solution-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities- Create and maintain tech packs
, ensuring all garment construction details, specifications, and BOMs are accurate and up to date. - Review design sketches and translate them into clear technical specifications for factory partners.
- Conduct fit sessions
, record fit comments, and update patterns and measurements as needed to ensure brand standards and consistency. - Collaborate closely with designers, product development, production, and factories to ensure garments meet design intent, cost parameters, and quality standards.
- Communicate corrections and revisions to overseas factories in a clear, organized, and timely manner.
- Maintain accurate graded specs and size standards across product categories.
- Troubleshoot construction and fit challenges, providing innovative solutions to achieve both design and production requirements.
- Ensure all styles meet compliance, fit, and quality standards before production.
- Track and manage multiple styles across development calendars, adhering to deadlines and milestones.
- 2–8 years of technical design experience in apparel (men’s, women’s, or children’s categories; experience in both knits & wovens).
- Strong knowledge of garment construction, pattern making, and grading.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Excel (experience using Google Drive is a plus).
- Excellent understanding of fit, draping, and fabrication across knit and woven categories.
- Ability to work independently, multitask, and prioritize while meeting strict deadlines.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and overseas vendors.
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design, Product Development, or related field (or equivalent experience).
