This OPS Professional Engineer II position with the Florida Department of Health supports the Safe Drinking Water Act and Public Swimming Pool programs. The role involves reviewing permit applications, compliance inspection reports, and monthly operating data for community water systems and public pools, while maintaining records for state and federal audits.
Key qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in engineering or physical/natural sciences with master's in engineering, plus Florida PE registration and 2 years post-registration experience
- Licensed Professional Engineer in civil and/or environmental engineering in Florida
- 2 years working as PE in water treatment processes and design with Safe Drinking Water Act regulatory compliance experience
- 2 years in environmental and/or civil engineering regulatory functions
- Knowledge of engineering data collection and analysis, technical documentation, and ability to work independently
