Job Summary

The Pharmacist is a critical role in ensuring accurate, timely, and regulatory-compliant verification of prescriptions processed during the shift. This position focuses on the second stage of prescription verification (PV2), providing a final review before fulfillment and shipment to patients. The Pharmacist must work efficiently in a high-volume production environment while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and adherence to state and federal pharmacy regulations.

This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to operational excellence to support the pharmacy's 24/7 fulfillment model during the overnight shift. This position offers the flexibility to transition into a senior management role based on the employee's performance and capabilities.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Prescription Verification: perform PV2 verification of prescriptions to ensure accuracy, safety, and compliance with legal requirements
• Regulatory Compliance:
  Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations, including DEA and FDA guidelines, while maintaining accurate records
• Quality Assurance:
  Identify and resolve discrepancies or issues in prescriptions to ensure medication safety and accuracy before fulfillment
• Collaboration:
  
  Work closely with pharmacy technicians, PV1 pharmacists, and fulfillment staff to ensure smooth operations during the shift
• Metrics Tracking:
  Monitor and maintain productivity metrics to align with pharmacy goals and efficiency benchmarks
• Operational Support:
  Assist in troubleshooting any issues related to prescription processing, verification systems, or workflow interruptions during the midnight shift
• Communication:
  Provide end-of-shift updates to the incoming team to ensure seamless transitions and continuity of operations

Qualifications

• Education:
  
  Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm
  
  D) or Bachelor of Pharmacy degree required
• Licensure:
  Must hold an active and unrestricted pharmacist license in Florida. Additional state licenses are a plus
